River Reflections
The River Liffey, adding a striking ambiance to the city of Dublin, runs through the center of Dublin and is traversed by way of decorative pedestrian and automobile bridges. Dublin is an ancient city with its origins in prehistoric Ireland. Dublin literally means "dark pool" and the River Liffey quietly contradicts this meaning as it brightly decorates the evening hour with colorful images from the bordering city scene. Kilkenny Castle
Built in the 13th century, Kilkenny Castle now sits quietly beside the River Nore. Beautifully maintained, Kilkenny is a visual splendour inside and out; as its majestic tapestries adorn the interior, and scented rose gardens and softly rolling hills surround its exterior. County Kilkenny, Ireland.

Glens of Antrim
These tranquil farming glens were muse and inspiration and muse for the Ulster poet, John Hewitt ,buried on the hilltop overlooking this captivating scene. Hewitt (1907-1987) wrote the poem, "Ossian's Grave," a poetic analysis of the archaeological and oral traditions of Ireland. County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Rustic Ireland

Ballykeel
Ballykeel Dolmen and Cairn is one of several megalithic sites dotting the Emerald Isle. The dolmen is identified by its three upright stones supporting its capstone, and the whole structure was placed on top of a ninety foot cairn adorning the landscape of its residents front yard. Ballykeel is located a few kilometers into the eastern boundary of Northern Ireland. County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Gorgeous homes, complete with lush gardens, line the small side street approach to the Bronze Age Stone Circle (2200-500 BC) on the outskirts of Kenmare, a small town favored for its production of hand made lace. Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland.

Castle Dunluce
The ruins of a 13th century castle perch vulnerably on a steep crag on the northern coast of Ireland. Castle Dunluce is a magnificent remnant of the medieval days of Knights and Kings. County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The beauty of Ireland is encapsulated in this tranquil vision. A fresh water stream slowly meanders through grassy hills dotted with dainty white flowers juxtaposing a prehistoric ring of fifteen stones in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland.

Swans on the River Shannon
This peaceful scene of swans luxuriating along the River Shannon in Limerick is found just outside the walls to King John's Castle. The castle was built in 1200 for King John of England and Lord of Ireland in the early 13th century. Today, the River Shannon bisects Limerick, the birthplace of Frank McCourt, author of "Angela's Ashes." County Limerick, Ireland.

Glendalough
St. Kevin's Kitchen is a miniature oratory with a steeply angled stone roof. Originally built in the 11th century, it is named after St. Kevin whose colorful legend inspired the monastic center. The settlement is set within the fertile wooded slopes of Glendalough meaning the "valley of the two lakes" completing this aesthetic scene. Glendalough, County Wicklow, Ireland.

Monasterboice
Monasterboice is a medieval monastery enclosed by a rock wall. Within this sanctuary stand its treasured tenth century High Crosses. This picture depicts a cross from the modern era contrasted by Ireland's vibrant greenery. County Louth, Ireland.

Adare
Well known for its neat stonework and thatched roofs, Adare is one of Ireland's prettiest villages. It is a long thin village set in a rich woodland area along the western coast of Ireland. Adare, County Galway, Ireland.

Castle Dunluce
Perched atop the rocky coastline of Northern Ireland, these castle walls embody the ruined remains of a once magnificent castle. Built to house a large number of residents, with its seven cooking fireplaces and large dining area, this now roofless structure evokes images of courtly love and honorable escapades as the sun begins to set behind the rolling green hillside. County Antrim, Ireland.
